Dharmalaya Institute is a charitable institution relying on dana (gifts and donations) from our supporters. While we are committed to a model of financial self-sustainability for our day-to-day activities once we're established, we are now in the founding stage and seeking gifts and grants to build the Institute and launch its charitable programmes. Contributions are tax-deductible in India and the USA to the extent allowed by law (see below for more information).

Dharmalaya Institute's Current Needs

Our greatest present needs are for:

• INR 22,00,000 (US$48,000) for eco-friendly construction of the Institute's main buildings
• INR 9,66,000 (US$21,000) for renewable energy systems (solar, micro-hydro, biogas) for the Institute
• INR 20,24,000 (US$44,000) to establish the Institute's programmes (development plus first three programme years)
• INR 1,84,000 (US$4,000) for the multilingual resource library (books, videos, CDs) at the Institute
• INR 3,68,000 (US$8,000) to fund a documentary film on the establishment of the Institute
• Donations of solar photovoltaic systems, solar water heaters, solar-powered lights and pumps, and water purification systems
• Donation of a utility vehicle for transporting goods and passengers
• Donation of bicycles to enable guests of the Institute to travel to and from the nearby villages in an eco-friendly manner
• Donation of a quality computer system, printer and UPS for the Institute's office
• Donation of organic heirloom seeds and fruit tree saplings
