Ellie is a designer and architect from Australia who joined Dharmalaya Institute’s team in 2023.
In her words:
I feel an incredibly deep respect and responsibility to reconnect with the ways of our ancestors and return to a symbiotic relationship with the more-than-human world around us. For as long as I can remember, I have been exploring different forms of art, architecture and expression, traveling around the world in order to deepen my connection to what I can offer through my craft. I experience architecture and the built form as an instrument to reconnect with a more embodied world experience; architecting the outer space as a catalyst of the inward architecture required to return home and connect to oneself. Nature, stillness, beauty and wonder are the foundations of my practice, which I aim to deepen more and more with each day.
I find precious inspiration in what each student and teacher has to share and I cherish the interactions that Dharmalaya Institute fosters. I am looking forward to connecting with each of you as we navigate and explore what it means to be human in today's world.
